Mojo Representations
Stereotypical representation example is of Stephen Malkmus as he is shown on a horse which shows his assertion of dominance and he is a white young male which is stereotypically displayed rather than a male of a different ethnicity also having him pictured on a horse this also shows his affluence as it suggests is wealth this would be of interest of abc1 people which is mojos magazine's target audience. Another example is of Christopher Eccleston as above his picture it shows all of his albums displaying his brilliance this is stereotypical to his gender as man are shown as smart also men of abc1 category connotes to smarts to be wealthy so coincides with social economic group.
Counter-typical representation example is of Roger Daltery as he is a more mature artist who doesn't conform to the rock genre and he doesn't conventionally dressed which doesn't fit into the rock but as the audience is of that age it will appeal and engage to their chosen demographic convention
Changes in gender roles
Page 50-51: Women are present in the magazine however there are dominantly males featured and only a few females.Patti Smith is a women featured in the magazine and challenges the stereotype of a women as she is not a house wife and instead is a rock artist which typically what a male would do were a women at the time would traditionally be a house wife and look after the children.Yet elegant italic pink writing is used for her name conforming to the stereotype of women being girly and shows femininity. In the image of Patti she doesn't wear tight fitting clothes which are usually worn to sexualise women and seen as an object she as well wears very little or even no makeup.
Ethnicity
Representation is effectively illustrated within MOJO magazine (Pink Floyd 2018) this can be shown by the inclusion of ethnic minorities for example Kamasi Washington he challenges the stereotype of the typical rock genre due to him being a black male this would interest ethnic minorities to this magazine as they will feel included . He is pictured in bright clothing (blue cardigan) this is a counter-type to the genre as it displays themes of happiness instead of punk rock which typically has gothic and dark themes such as wearing leather.
