CODES~ A SET OF SIGNS AND SYMBOLS THAT SHOW/SUGGEST THE MEANING
CONVENTIONS~ SOMETHING TYPICAl OF A GENRE
The use of bright bold blended colours yellow, purple, pink and blue enhances the psychedelic nature of their music they produce the colours of a rainbow is a code for their most iconic album cover 'the prism', they also use an extreme close up of the bands heads this allows an element of supernatural as the picture isn't clear but instead faded which adds to their psychedelic theme. Additionally, the extreme close up of their heads gives loyal fans a chance to see their favourite fan one on one.
The use of a large serif font of their cover line is the main feature of the magazine this is to entice the reader and promote their best songs so that people want to read it and find out what their 'good' songs are and they can gain a bigger fan base. Furthermore, the masthead of MOJO is big and bold so even though the loyal fans may not necessarily be interested in pink floyd they will want to read this magazine as they are loyal fans to MOJO also the masthead is white and bold which automatically attracts the reader to the magazine and the phrase 'the music magazine' suggests to the reader that this is the best magazine to find out all things about music and the word 'the' shows they feel that this is the ONLY music magazine highlights their confidence.
